Knowledge Stores

Heterogeneous knowledge stores: While there exist already several semantic repositories (e.g., KAON, Sesame), they suffer from scalability and robustness problems, as can be seen from recent studies, e.g. http://swat.cse.lehigh.edu/pubs/guo04c.pdf.

Further, there are no engines which allow efficient combinations of semantic-based and full-text search (FTS). The knowledge store to be developed in TAO will address both problems and demonstrate considerable enhancements with respect to the current state-of-the-art tools. This work will build upon the ORDI framework, currently developed in the scope of DIP.
