Ontology Learning Software - Instructions

LATINO: Download here

To know more on LATINO, contact Miha Grcar.

This package contains the LATINO source code.

LATINO stands for link-analysis and text-mining toolbox. Most of it is written in C# with the exception of text-mining routines which are based on Text Garden (http://www.textmining.org) and thus use external TextGardenLib.dll (included in the package). The theory behind LATINO is covered in TAO D2.2. This deliverable also includes the reference manual to the LATINO Web-service interface; note, however, that this particular interface is not yet available. LATINO is not trivial to use at its current stage of development. If you decide to try in out anyway, we suggest you to first read D2.2 and then look at the GATE case study adapter source code.

GATE Adapter: Download here

To know more on GATE Adaptor, contact Miha Grcar.

This package contains the Windows executables for the GATE case study adapter.

The GATE case study adapter is a command-line utility which extracts content and structure from the GATE source code (i.e. from a collection of Java classes), and allows the user to set several parameters which define how the extracted information is converted into a set of feature vectors. These feature vectors can be loaded into the LATINO-compatible OntoGen which can be downloaded from the TAO Web site. Note that you need to install the .NET Framework 1.1 to run this demo.

To know more on OntoGen, contact Miha Grcar.

This version of OntoGen (the official Web site is at http://ontogen.ijs.si) was adapted for TAO. To try it out, you can generate bag-of-words (.bow) and bow-weights (.boww) files with the GateAdapter demo and then load these into OntoGen. To open LATINO sparse vectors in OntoGen, you need to select the “Bag-of-Words with Weights” option from the menu “File – New ontology”. The information about how to use OntoGen can be found in TAO D2.2. Note that you need to install .NET Framework 2.0 to run this application.
