TAO Project SHOWCASE
The TAO project addressed the problem of transitioning legacy applications to ontologies.
For our purposes, we adopted the following definition of legacy applications:
“A large software system that is vital to an organisation, but resists modification and evolution to meet new and constantly changing business requirements”.
The goal of TAO is to make transitioning to ontologies fast and effective, thus lowering the migration costs and allowing companies to:
- Build a reusable transitioning process
- Minimize consulting time during migration and integration
- Minimize costs
- Reduce integration overheads and limit risk
This Showcase will take you through the project and its applications, through brief descriptions, demos, software and publications. We are also presenting you with a Cookbook which has been designed specifically to help you decide on the appropriateness of the diverse TAO tools for your purposes
